Danube Class Runabout (Star Trek)

At the turn of the the New Year there was a challenge issued in one of the model groups to build a very large model.

My entry is a 1/35 scratchbuilt Star Trek shuttle most commonly seen in the Deep Space Nine series. As it stands right now the interior and lighting have been completed and the exterior portions are ready to begin.

Hetzer Group Build

So the local modeling club has decided to produce a group entry for the IPMS show in 2018. The idea is to use the Hetzer (A funny little German tank from WWII) and convert it to a TV or movie theme.

I elected to create a shuttle craft from each of the two best known science fiction franchises.

Gunship update

Work on the gunship continues to move forward with much more of the exterior and almost all of the interior completed. I also made a considerable investment in scratchbuilding; I bought a CNC cutter. It allows a user to easily produce numerous, repeatable parts in any sheet material. In this case, .015″ styrene plastic.

The cockpit section and interior paint also received a lot of effort and near completion.
