The idea to convert Hasagawa’s 1/20 Camel into a submarine was originally much more somber and serious. I was going to depict the model in the act of recovering a Cockpit Voice Recorder from submerged wreckage. But in light of the recent troubles with the Boeing 737, I decided the diorama should be taken in a more lighthearted direction.
